How To Make A Clay Pot

There are 7 main steps in making clay Pots by hand.
1. Mud selection and kneading:
Choose a piece of bun-like mud that is as soft as possible and place it on the drawing machine. 2. Opening:
With the left hand protecting the mud, use the thumb of the right hand to dig a hole in the bun-shaped mud block, and then gradually dig it outwards. Be careful not to dig the hole thoroughly, leaving about 1 cm thick to the bottom.
3. Make it bigger and taller
Use your thumb to push the mud belly to the outside, expand the mud belly, and pull it up to a cylindrical shape; then place your thumb two centimeters from the mouth of the tube and top it outward, and the clay Pot is basically formed.
4. Plastic surgery:
You need to place the middle finger and thumb of one hand on the inner and outer walls of the earthenware pot. Use the shape of the hand to make the wall of the earthenware pot even thicker with the speed of the turntable. Use the same method to round out the mouth shape. Use a rag to clean up the water and impurities in the clay pot.
5. Take the blank:
Put the spatula on the bottom of the clay pot, protect the pot with your hands, shovel it onto the plastic plate, and place it on the turntable.
6. Decal repair blank:
Take the mud, squeeze the petals with your hands, gently paste it on the pot, and use needles, sculpture tools, etc. to carve the pattern and veins; then use a trimming knife to remove the bottom mud, and the surface of the pottery pot is round and smooth.
7. Coloring:
After the clay pot is formed, it has to be fired in a week before the pot can be colored. After coloring, spray varnish to make the clay pot brighter and not afraid of water.
